Osasuna Femenino Falls 2-1 to Tenerife B

Las Rojillas tried to bounce back with a second-half goal by forward Ana Urzainqui, but fell short on their effort.

Osasuna Femenino fell 2-1 to Tenerife B at Ciudad Deportiva C.D. Tenerife on Saturday afternoon. Las Rojillas sought to shorten a 2-0 difference with a goal by forward Ana Urzainqui in the 70th minute, but it was not enough to bring points back home.

The match opened with both teams trading chances, with Osasuna creating early opportunities. Midfielder Irati Igoa had a near miss inside the box, and defender María Portolés's attempt following a cross from Marina also failed to find the net. Just before halftime, Tenerife capitalized on their chances; midfielder Nuria Pon scored in the 44th minute, and just a minute later, forward Esther García doubled the lead, leaving Osasuna facing a significant challenge in the second half.

After the break, Osasuna pressed to close the gap. Defender Nahia Azpiazu's cross sailed over the crossbar, while midfielder Adri Parada's volley went wide. In the 70th minute, forward Ana Urzainqui gave Las Rojillas a glimmer of hope with her goal, narrowing the score to 2-1. Buoyed by this momentum, Osasuna pushed forward in search of an equalizer, but their efforts fell short.

Las Rojillas next match is against Villarreal at Tajonar on Saturday, September 27. The kickoff is set for noon.
